After more than 31 years of practicing bankruptcy law Steven Lever is winding down from the practice of law and sold his law firm to the One Law Corporation. Its attorneys started taking on all new clients starting in June of 2022. Steve didn’t want to retire without having younger, energetic and service minded attorneys like Jill Kim and Christine Yeo taking over the mission of the firm. Having carefully built the platform for superior client service over many years he wanted dedicated attorneys to use the specially built processes and procedures honed over decades. He is staying on as "of counsel" through April 2023 to make sure Jill and Christine are thoroughly supported and advised as they undertake to provide the optimized personal debt solutions for every client.
Christine Yeo understands the power of bankruptcy from her extensive business, real estate and litigation experience. She is dedicated to helping people find their fresh start and finding their footing again in their financial and business affairs. She purchased Lever Law to accelerate her engagement in this crucial and fascinating area of bankruptcy law.
Born and raised in Southern California, Christine studied Political Science at UCLA, where she received departmental honors, then earned her law degree at the Southwestern University School of Law in 2009.
Outside of work, Christine enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at the local senior center.
Jill Kim started her legal career in a bankruptcy practice in 2010. While she has since broadened her legal knowledge to include business and real estate litigation, which compliments her bankruptcy practice, she has always had a passion for bankruptcy law and the opportunity it gives her to help people change their financial future. She acquired Lever Law with her partner Christine Yeo this year to deepen her commitment to this area of practice. By acquiring a practice that has been serving the needs of the financially distressed in Long Beach, the South Bay, Los Angeles and Orange Counties since 1995, she is excited to continue the legacy of high-quality representation long into the future. Ms. Kim speaks Korean and is married with a toddler. When not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and practicing yoga.
